I came to work for Limitless and CrossFit Chiltern after setting myself up as a freelance PR and Marketing Manager, working remotely from my home in Kent. Like lots of new mums I was looking for flexible working and so I felt that if I could take on a few businesses that would be happy for me to work from home and work the hours I wanted to, I could in return offer my skills and experience.

I started out over ten years ago in PR working for a fashion and lifestyle agency after I finished university in Leeds. After a couple of years I then decided to go for a job working for an agency that specialised in the motor industry, which then lead to me being press officer at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders in London. It was a busy role and gave me a great insight into working in a press office and how to write good content and engage with the media.

When I started a family in 2011 I felt the need to be at home looking after my children. Now aged 5 and almost 3, I am able to slowly ease back into work, and being a freelancer has given me the great opportunity to do that.

Thankfully Limitless and CrossFit Chiltern was one of those businesses that took me on and for about 6 months now I have been working with the team, planning content for the Facebook page and website and generating new ideas. I’ve also been writing press releases and trying to the get the name out there as much as possible so more and more people can discover what Jeremy and the team are doing at the box.

I love being able to learn more about health and fitness and just doing this job has given me so much insight into just how important it is to keep active and to understand how nutrition and lifestyle play such an important part.  I wish I lived closer the box as it’s something I would love to do myself, but Jeremy and the team have been so great including me in the team despite the fact I work remotely. It’s been a pleasure so far and I’m looking forward to continuing on the journey!
